Special Response Team  ("S.R.T.")

The Team was incorporated by the department in 1998.  All of the members of the Team must meet the physical and psychological demands of the position.   They are retested several times a year for physical fitness and firearms proficiency.  The Team is led by the operational commander and a team leader.   Members duties include dynamic entry, bunkers, tactical marksman, diversionary device/chemical agent training and hostage negotiations.
Rockland's S.R.T. team trains continually to maintain their skills and are available at all times for call outs for special situations as they occur.  These can include everything from high risk search warrants, hostage situations and dignitary protection.   The Team is also available to assist neighboring towns through mutual aid in any high risk incidents.
